The Cougar baseball team won two games at Jamestown Community College yesterday afternoon. The team came back after being one run down, by scoring one in the sixth and one in the seventh to win the first game 2-1. Nate Smith and Jacob Featherstone each had two hits to lead the Cougars, while Adam Grace added a double. Greg Rapp got the win going the distance on the mound, giving up one run on three hits, striking out eight and walking no batters.
In game two, the Cougars scored three runs in the fourth inning, added two in the fifth and one in the sixth on their way to a 6-0 win. Shaun Slemko got his second win of the fall season pitching six innings, giving up two hits while striking out two and walking no batters. Leading the offense for Genesee was Jacob Featherstone going 3-4 with two runs scored, while Adam Grace went 2-4 at the plate.
The team is now 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Western New York Athletic Conference. The team travels next to Erie Community College on Thursday September 16th.
