The GCC Women’s Soccer Team won their second straight game today defeating Onondaga CC (1-5-0) with a score of 7-0. Sophomore Captain Jessie Jaszko (Batavia, NY) got the Lady Cougars off to an early start scoring a goal just 4minutes and 50 seconds into the game. She later went on to score 2 more and assist 3 (3 goals 3 assists total). Also leading the Lady Cougars were Dzinzdi Wade (Rochester,NY) with 1 goal and 1 assist while Jessica Klug (Alden, NY), Ali Cashmore (Akron,NY), and Marissa Pecora (Penfield, NY) each scored 1 goal apiece. Emily Troup (Holley, NY) and Catherine Mucha (Nunda, NY) each contributed to the win with 2 assists. Adele Zeh (Nunda, NY) and Mollie Culmone (Brockport, NY) split time in net and held Onondaga scoreless. They registered a combined total of 2 saves as the team outshot Onondaga 17-2.
Genesee Women’s Soccer is currently ranked 6th in the nation for NJCAA Division III with an overall record of 4-1-0 and an undefeated Division III record. The team will compete next at home on Tuesday the 14th against Jefferson Community College at 4:00pm.
