Commencement Speaker: Dr. Nancy Zimpher, SUNY Chancellor

Genesee Community College’s 42nd graduating class will be recognized at a Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm. A media hour will be held at 12:00 pm in the President’s Board Room, which will provide an opportunity to meet and interview several outstanding Genesee soon-to-be graduates. These include:

  • Christina Bakos- (Batavia, NY) Business Administration
  • Bernard Bakos- (Batavia, NY) Computer Information Systems
  • Joshua Brugger - (Churchville, NY) Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Kelly Carricciolo- (Arima, Trinidad) Online Business Administration degree
  • Colleen McKay- (Woodstock, OT Canada) Entrepreneurship
  • Pubudu Pattiyage- (Colombo, Sri Lanka) Computer Systems and Network Technologies
  • Aiwen Yang- (Madrid, Spain) General Studies

Commencement speaker, Dr. Nancy L. Zimpher, began serving as SUNY Chancellor in June 2009. In her role, Dr. Zimpher is the Chief Executive Officer of SUNY, providing overall leadership and direction to the 64-campus system. Dr. Zimpher is now launching one of the most expansive strategic plans in higher education. She presented the Strategic Plan at a series of collaborative events among SUNY institutions the week of April 26th, outlining ways SUNY can lead the way to economic revival in New York State.
