Lady Cougars Top Saints

Genesee Women's Basketball team played at home last night as they defeated the Saints of Mercyhurst Northeast. The lady cougars got off to a slow start as they trailed for the first 10 minutes of the game. The Cougars defensive play carried them to the win as they had a tough time putting the ball in the net. Genesee led at the half with a score of 25-23. The game remained close throughout the second half and came to an end with Genesee on top 67-57.
The team was led offensively by Jamia Martin who scored 20 points, Marcedes Caver added in 13 points and Krystie Laurey chipped in 12 points. The defensive attack was led by Kamela Bender who had 6 defensive rebounds and 2 blocked shots, while Ciara Twillie grabbed 2 steals.
The lady Cougars are back in action at Jamestown Saturday afternoon.
