Batavia Photo Club to Exhibit at Genesee Community College

Genesee Community College is pleased to announce the Batavia Photography Club will display a Member’s Exhibit in the Lobby Art Gallery at the Batavia Campus. The exhibit will run December 3 through January 25 with an opening reception on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Batavia Photo Club Exhibit will feature a wide array of photography from local artists.

The Batavia Photography Club was founded by Jim Dusen in 1986. It currently has over 30 members, from beginners to more advanced photographers. The club sponsors field trips, schedules speakers, and holds workshops for hands-on learning. Print and slide competitions are held for members who like to compete. The club is also affiliated with the Niagara Frontier Regional Camera Club, of which there are a total of 10 member clubs. Visit http://bataviaphotoclub.tripod.com/index.htm for more information.

The Batavia Photo Club meets on Monday evenings from September through April. For 2009-2010, the club meets in “The Swanson Room” at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia, NY, at 222 Richmond Avenue. The meetings begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. with a business meeting followed by the presentation or competition, which begin at 7:30.
