The GCC women’s soccer program has a handful of newcomers and key returning players to stock their roster for the 2009 season. Key returning players include Alesha Amend (Alexander, NY) who was a playmaker in the midfield last season and has a hunger for the back of the net. Meagan Grapensteter (Rochester, NY) returns on defense for the Lady Cougars, and brings along strong leadership skills, as well as her quick defensive skills. Multiple newcomers are expected to make an immediate impact on the field as well. Chelsea Williams (Brockport, NY) brings her excellent technical skills, as well as an aggressiveness and athletic ability that makes her one of the top incoming freshmen. Jessie Jasezko (Batavia, NY) will add quickness to the Cougar roster and has the ability to put the ball in the back of the net. Kelsey Chaya (Batavia, NY) will play in the midfield. Her athleticism and knowledge of the game gives her a good vision on the field. Kelsey Fenton (Pembroke, NY) is another forward who has a strong ability to read the game. She is aggressive on the ball and will add to the strong Cougar attack. The Lady Cougars finished last season with a 5-12-1 record and look to improve on that with their strong incoming freshman class and experienced second year players.
