The Lady Cougars won two games this afternoon as they faced Onondaga Community College. The first game the team shut out OCC with a score of 4-0, and the team was led on the mound by sophomore Laura Olcott (Ticonderoga). Olcott threw a fantastic one hitter in the first game and compiled nine strikeouts. The offence was led by freshman Taylor Maurer (Pembroke) and Brandi Froman (Albion). Maurer hit a two run home run in the fourth inning, while Froman went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.
The second game of the day the Lady Cougars fell behind in the top of the 5th inning 7-2 but rallied back quickly to take the 11-7 lead. The team was led by Sophomores Jami Chatt (Oakfield) and Juli Rushton (Fergus, Ont). Chatt went 2 for 3 at the plate and hit a two run homerun in the 2nd inning. Rushton also went 2 for 3 at the plate including a triple and a double while compiling 4 RBI’s.
The Lady Cougars look towards their next game on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Erie Community College.
