Area Youth Go To College For Performing Arts Experience at Genesee

Genesee Community College and the Genesee Center for the Arts continues its commitment to the performing arts with its fourth annual PERFORMING ARTS EXPERIENCE at GENESEE. This three-week theatre workshop, targeted for children and young adults ages 8-16, runs from July 7-July 25, 2008 (Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM) at the college’s Center for the Arts.

The Performing Arts Experience at Genesee introduces the fundamentals of theatre in an engaging way for children and young adults fascinated by the stage and live performance.

“This is a confidence-building program, providing every day, hands-on encounters that are sure to be fun and very fulfilling for the students,” said Maryanne Arena, Director of Fine and Performing Arts at Genesee.

The workshop will culminate with all participants giving two live musical performances on stage in the state-of-the-art Stuart Steiner Theatre. Open to the public and for parents, families, and friends, performances are scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2008 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM.
