GCC Lacrosse Splits Games over Weekend

The men’s lacrosse team began the weekend on Friday April 18, 2008 with a 14-7 win over the University of Rochester’s club team. On Sunday April 20, 2008, GCC was defeated by Cobleskill CC, 17-11.

During Friday’s win, Justin Nanticoke (Akron, NY) led in scoring with six goals and two assists. Other top scorers on the evening were Cory Blackburn (Hilton, NY) with three goals, Steve Dollinger (Medina, NY) with two goals and one assist, and Dan Page (Medina, NY) with two goals and three assists. Tyler Stiles (Hilton, NY) assisted on six of the goals. Don Knavel (West Seneca, NY) had six ground balls and goalie, Coty Brawdy (Angola, NY), made 12 saves for the game.

Nanticoke led the offensive attack again on Sunday during the team’s loss to Cobleskill CC with four goals. Blackburn pitched in and scored four goals while adding one assist. Stiles added one goal and assisted on five goals. Page and Eric Sawyer (Batavia, NY) each added one goal. Dusty Parker (Akron, NY) won eight face-offs while picking up ten ground balls to help GCC in their hard fought effort. Goalie, Coty Brawdy, had another good performance with 20 saves.
