Lacrosse Dropped Two this Weekend

The men’s lacrosse team dropped their first back-to-back series of games during this past weekend.

On Saturday April 12, 2008, Genesee lost at Jefferson 9-16. It was a close game until the second quarter when the game slipped away from GCC. The hard-fought effort was led by Steve Dollinger (Medina, NY) with three goals, while Dan Page (Medina, NY) and Dusty Parker (Akron, NY) each added two goals apiece. Cory Blackburn (Hilton, NY) assisted on three of the goals and led the team in ground balls with eight. Goalie, Coty Brawdy (Angola, NY), played solid in goal with 22 saves.

On Sunday April 13, 2008, the Cougars were defeated by No. 9 nationally ranked, Hudson Valley CC, 4-14. Genesee had a tough time controlling the ball offensively, but Parker was able to net two goals, while Justin Nanticoke (Akron, NY) and Matt Nauerth (Brockport, NY) each netted one goal. Don Knavel (West Seneca, NY) and Ross Johnson (Hilton, NY) played solid defense picking up seven ground balls apiece and Brawdy had 19 saves for the game.

The Cougars are back at it again as they travel to No. 11 nationally ranked, Broome CC, today. The face off is at 4:00pm.
