Stresing is Named Student of the Month

Kate Stresing (Elba, NY), a second-year member of the women’s basketball team, has been named GCC’s Student of the Month for April. Stresing was a starter for this year’s 24-6 Lady Cougar’s squad. The Elba graduate averaged 4.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 1.8 apg. In the Cougars second straight national tournament appearance, Stresing averaged 32.8 minutes played per game and recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, and three assists against MCC – Penn Valley in the team’s first round victory (78-69).

Along with consistent performances on the basketball court, Stresing brings this consistency to the classroom and maintains over a 3.0 GPA. She has been a work study for the past two years in the Academic Affairs office. Stresing is also a member of the environmental club on GCC’s campus.

Stresing will continue her education and basketball career at a four-year institution. She is interested in studying nutrition and dietetics along with playing basketball at the DIII level.
