Softball Splits with Jamestown Community College

The softball team beat Jamestown CC 4-1 in their first game of the double header.  The defense was led by Jenn Turner (Batavia, NY) on the mound, as she threw the complete game and only allowed three hits.  On the offensive side, Kim Proper (Letchworth, NY) and Julie Joyce (Pembroke, NY) were the two dominate pieces.  Joyce bats in the lead off spot and went three for four with one RBI.  Proper in the power position was two for three with one triple and one RBI.

During the second game, the Cougars could not get their offense going and lost the game 4-0.  Despite the loss, team captain, Proper, performed well at bat and behind the plate. Proper hit one for three and caught two runners trying to steal bases from behind the plate.

Genesee's next game will be on Saturday April 5, 2008 as they travel to Broome Community College for a double header.
