Genesee's Director of Admissions to Highlight the College Application Process at NACAC College Fair

Tanya Lane-Martin, Director of Admissions at Genesee Community College, will be presenting a workshop at the upcoming National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) College Fair on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, NY.

The workshop, The College Application Process, will take place from 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm and again from 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm. Co-presented with Bernie Valento, the Director of Admissions at SUNY Brockport, this workshop will give attendees an overview of the steps to successfully apply to colleges and universities. From applying for financial aid to choosing an academic program, this workshop will help new students smoothly navigate each phase of the application process.

Students will also be invited to attend one of the upcoming Open Houses at Genesee Community College including the Saturday, April 26th event which includes the 27th annual Fashion Show. While the Open House occurs at 12:00 pm, Open House attendees can linger on to enjoy the fast-moving highly, popular Fashion Show—this year is entitled, So Ohhh! after the College’s Fashion Merchandising field trip to New York City and SoHo—the students’ favorite section of Manhattan.
Genesee’s other Open House is scheduled Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 6:00 pm at Genesee Community College, and College Visit days are April 11 or 18 at 9:00 am. Open Houses and College Visits give students the opportunity to tour the campus, ask questions, and explore opportunities offered at the College.

Last year’s NACAC College Fair attracted over 6,000 attendees to the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. NACAC was founded in 1937 and is dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.
