The Cougars Break School Record in Win against Mercyhurst Northeast

The men’s basketball team made history shooting 18 for 38 from behind the arc in their 102-80 win over Mercyhurst Northeast. The team broke the 14 for 28 three point shooting record set during the 1998-1999 season. Contributing to this three point record was Alex Makur (Toronto, Ontario) shooting 53.3% (8-15), Boris Calhoun (Rochester, NY) shooting 50% (5-10), Josh Henderson (Rochester, NY) netted three 3’s, Reid Houston (Rochester, NY) and Phil Taylor (Dublin, Ireland) each had one three a piece.

Makur led all scorers with 34 points (11-21 FG). Calhoun netted 25 points and handed out four assists. Three other players added double figures to the victory, Houston had 13 points along with 13 rebounds to record a double-double on the night, Henderson had 13 points and four assists, and Richard Westbrook (Rochester, NY) had ten points and eight rebounds.

The men improve to 7-4 in the WNYAC. Their next home WNYAC contest will be on Tuesday February 19 vs. Monroe CC.
