Genesee Lays Down the Law with Fairy Tale Courtroom

The Forum Players at Genesee Community College, the college’s student-based acting group, will be continuing their 2007-2008 season with the children’s comedy FAIRY TALE COURTROOM. Premiering Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 7:30PM, subsequent performances include Friday, February 29, 2008 at 7:30 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM.

A comedy for the whole family, FAIRY TALE COURTROOM shows the other side of everyone’s favorite fairy tales when the Wicked Witch and the Big Bad Wolf are finally brought to trial for preventing people from living “happily ever after.” After Snow White, Dorothy, Sleeping Beauty, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and others take the stand to testify, it is up to the audience--as the jury--to decide the fate of the poor misunderstood villains.

With cast members made up of Genesee students, FAIRY TALE COURTROOM features Johnny Dow as the Big Bad Wolf (Rochester, NY), Anjelica Sistrunk (Syracuse, NY) as the Wicked Witch and Mark J. Sidor (Auburn, NY) as the Judge. Rounding out the company of players are Alex Falu (New York City), Jessica Francis (Perry, NY), Tiffany Fye (Darien Center, NY), Joshua D. V. Lang (LeRoy, NY), Jessica Pierce (Batavia, NY), Tony Ricci (Lyndonville, NY), Justin Ryan (Penfield, NY), Melani Wakefield (Austin, TX), Antonio Ware (Syracuse, NY) and Edward Wolfe (Arcade, NY).

FAIRY TALE COURTROOM is being directed by Vincent Elliott, who is also serving as Technical Director for the production. Produced by special arrangement with Baker’s Plays, general admission ticket prices are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for senior citizens, students and GCC faculty, and $2.00 for GCC students.
