The Men’s and Women’s swim teams at Genesee Community College are hosting a “Dive-In” Movie, a fundraiser for the whole family. On Friday, February 22 a screening of the family film Ratatouille will take place at the Batavia Campus Gymnasium with the 20’ x 16’ inflatable screen. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the movie starts at 7:00 pm.
The film, released in 2007, follows the adventures of Remy, a rat who is constantly risking his life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love of good food. When a young employee accidentally spoils a pot of soup, Remy comes to his rescue by saving the soup and the two partner up to avoid the insane head chef, bring culture to Remy’s family, win over the girlfriend, and produce the finest ratatouille in all of France.
Admission to the Swim team’s “Dive-In” movie is just a $3 donation per person or a $10 donation for an entire family. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Each participant will receive a raffle ticket for prizes. Bleacher seating will be available, or families may bring a blanket or sleeping bag (no lawn chairs please). Refreshments will be for sale that evening.
“This is a fun event that will give area families a night out and also benefit our swim teams here at Genesee,” said Coach Scott Hunsinger. “The student athletes are looking forward to hosting this event.”
