Basketball Teams Take Two on the Road

On Tuesday February 5, the men and women’s basketball teams beat Niagara CCC on the road.

Women 87 – Niagara 25

The women improve to 19-2 on the season with a 87-25 win over Niagara CCC. Using a 46-11 run in the last 16 minutes of the first half, the women got out to a 37 point lead at the half. The team finished the game shooting 53% from the field and forced the Trailblazers to turn the ball over 34 times.

Leading the Lady Cougars with a double-double was Brittany McCray (Lyons, NY) with 15 points and ten rebounds. McCray also had six steals. Bianca Jones (Long Island City, NY) had 15 points and Cynnetha Bellinger (Binghamton, NY) chipped in with seven points, six assists, and five rebounds.

The women will host Jamestown on Tuesday February 12 at 6pm for their next conference contest.

Men 90 – Niagara 62

Shooting 57.4% from the field and outrebounding Niagara 46-32, the Cougars beat the Trailblazers 90-64. Leading all scorers for the night was Boris Calhoun (Rochester, NY) with 23 points (9-15 FG, 5-10 3FG). Alex Makur (Toronto, ONT) added 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Also contributing to the Cougars conference win was Adam Yeoman (Rochester, NY) with ten points, Jermaine Cameron (Bronx, NY) and Reid Houston (Rochester, NY) with nine rebounds apiece, and Josh Henderson (Rochester, NY) with a game high seven assists.

The men travel to Herkimer Thursday night for a 7pm game.
