Genesee Community College to List Surplus Inventory on Auction Website

Genesee Community College will hold their first-ever online silent auction of surplus equipment including a pug mill and computers. The auction will begin on Wednesday, January 30th and end on Wednesday, February 13th starting at 7:00 p.m. The items will close in the order they are listed at two-minute intervals.

The auction merchandise can be viewed at where visitors can view items, track items and place bids. The website and auction is open to the public.

The items offered will be sold to the highest bidder, and the buyers will make appointments to pick up their merchandise after the sale has concluded. Successful bidders will be invoiced by the auction company, who will collect the sale proceeds on behalf of the College.

The College decided to contract the services of Buffalo-based Auctions International, Inc. as a way to sell the school’s surplus inventory without having to move items to a central auction site. In addition to saving labor costs, the college will have the option of declining any bids they feel are too low. Over 7,500 bidders are currently registered to bid on the Auctions International website.

Interested parties can contact the auctioneers directly for more information at 800-536-1401 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or contact GCC at 585-343-0055 x6824.
