Barr Inducted into Royalton-Hartland Inaugural Hall of Fame

In early December, Sarah Barr was inducted into the first Royalton-Hartland (NY) hall of fame for her accomplishments in the sport of swimming. This 2006 high school graduate holds nine out of eleven school records in the following events: 500 free, 200 free, 100 free, 50 free, 100 back, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay. During her high school career, Barr also held the 50 free Niagara-Orleans league record for one year (‘06-’07) and was named Royalton-Hartland’s athlete of the year during that same year. On top of these achievements, this GCC freshman was her team’s most valuable player for four years and a “Super 7” athlete of the week.

Currently at GCC, Barr is majoring in general education and a member of the GCC swimming and diving team. She swam in her first invitational meet on Saturday January 19, 2008 at Erie Community College. This hall-of-famer placed first in her lone event, 50 free, with a time of 26.17.

Barr is an active swimmer and coach. In her free time, she helps her mother coach the modified swim team at Royalton-Hartland. She is undecided about what profession she would like to go into after college, but might be interested in coaching a swim team of her own some day.
