Anyone who has ever considered going back to school or seeking training for further career advancement should join Cheri Clark, Adult Educational Opportunity Center (AEOC) Outreach Specialist for a series of free workshops called I Can Do This!
The first workshop is Monday, November 5 from 7:00-8:30 pm in Room 308 at the GCC Warsaw Campus Center, located at 115 Linwood Avenue in the YMCA complex. This workshop, titled I Can Do This, lets participants look at all of the options for returning to school and tells them what they need to do to take advantage of these opportunities.
The second workshop is scheduled for Monday, November 12 from 7:00-8:30 pm in Room 304 at the Warsaw Campus Center, titled You Can Do This. The workshop explores ways for participants to afford returning to school. The financial aid process will be explained and assistance with individual applications can be scheduled.
The final workshop is set for Monday, November 19 from 7:00-8:30 pm in Room 308 at the Warsaw Campus Center. Titled We Did It (You Can Too!), the session will offer a student panel of those who have taken this step and their tips for successfully returning to school. Refreshments will be served and there will be a time to speak informally with the panelists.
“This is a wonderfully informative series of workshops that we are very excited to present to the community,” said Cheri Clark, AEOC Outreach Specialist. “Anyone who has even remotely considered furthering their education should take this opportunity to follow their dreams.”
The workshop series is free and open to the public. AEOC is funded by the US Department of Education and sponsored by Genesee Community College. For more information about the workshop series, contact Cheri Clark at the Adult Educational Opportunity Center at 585-813-7525.
