Baseball Advances to WNYAC Final Four

On October 3, 2007, the Genesee CC Baseball team beat Jamestown CC 11-4. With this win, the Cougars will advance to the Western New York Athletic Conference Final Four for the third straight year in a row. The cougars will be looking for their second title in the last three years.

On Saturday, October 6, 2007, they will play at the Genesee Community Colleges baseball field at 11am against Alfred State College. With a win, the team will play the winner of the Monroe CC vs. Erie CC match up. That game will be played at Dwyer Stadium beginning at 11am. The two winners will play at Dwyer Stadium starting at 3pm. This will be the first time that Genesee CC and Dwyer Stadium will host the WNYAC Finals.

Genesee CC and Monroe CC both finished with 9-1 records in the conference this fall, but Monroe received the #1 seed based on a coin flip. Genesee was the #2 seed with its best fall ever, finishing the regular fall season at 15-1. Alfred State College received the #3 seed with an 8-4 record while Erie CC gets the #4 seed with a 6-6 record.
