Genesee Softball Going Strong

The Lady Cougars had a rough start to the 2007 spring season going 1-7 while they were in Myrtle Beach. Since they have returned they have been going strong with a record of 14-5. The Lady Cougars are currently 15-4 in the Region and 15-12 overall. The cougars are led by the strong leadership and ability of sophomore captain Jennifer Martins. Martins is currently batting .518 overall with 10 doubles, 6 triples and 24 RBI’s. Kim Proper and Michelle Hope are also contributing to the Lady Cougar’s offense. Proper is batting .518 with 7 doubles, 3 triples, 3 homeruns and 30 RBI’s and Hope is batting .451 with 5 doubles, 1 triples , 2 homeruns and 27 RBI’s. The Lady Cougars are expecting big things as they finish their season this week and hopefully head to regional’s next weekend.
