Fitchette Selected as Second Team All-American

Freshman Alyssa Fitchette capped off a very successful year by being named as a second team NJCAA All-American selection. The 6'2 middle from Watertown, New York led the Lady Cougars in blocks and was ranked 9th in the country with 251 (1.82 per game). She was also ranked 14th in the nation in hitting efficiency (44.6%).

Fitchette was also a first team All-WNYAC conference pick. She was joined on the first team by freshman teammates Danielle Berryman (5'8 outside hitter; Hamilton, Ontario) and Jennifer Martins (5'8 setter; Mississauga, Ontario). Berryman was ranked in the nation in three categories and was either first or second on the team in four different areas. Berryman led the Lady Cougars in kills (471, 37th in country) and she was second on the team in hitting efficiency (2nd in nation, 61.8%), aces (ranked 7th with 139), and digs (443). Martins was ranked first in the nation in hitting efficiency (92.13%) and is ranked 36th in assists with 959 total.
