The Genesee Community College men's soccer team managed three wins in four regional contests this week. On Monday, GCC hammered North Country, 5-1. Mike Mertz connected on 2 goals and Jeremy Conte added a goal and an assist. JJ Walsh scored his first goal of the year and Leland Reynolds also found the net for GCC.
On Thursday, Genesee defeated Finger Lakes, 3-1. Sophomore Mike Brazis scored twice for GCC. Katsuyaki Koyano connected for the other goal. Brazis again netted both goals for GCC in its 2-1 victory over Delhi on Saturday. On Sunday Genesee hosted Herkimer, who is the number one ranked team in the country. The Cougars were shut out 4-0. GCC runs its record to 11-6 overall and 10-5 in Region III.
