The Genesee Community College baseball team took three out of four games last week to wrap up its fall season before the play-offs. The team split two games with Brock University. Brock is located in St. Catharine's Ontario. GCC won game one by a score of 5-2. Josh Parkinson went 3 for 4 and Johnny DeWolfe added 2 hits for the Cougars. GCC managed only four hits as it lost game two, 10-0.
The team swept its doubleheader with Finger Lakes, 5-3 and 3-0. In the first game, Quinn Fuller got his first win from the mound as Jeff Gmereck had three hits and Steve Torrey added two for the Cougars. Aaron Strusienski won the second game by pitching five shutout innings and Tony Ray belted a homerun for GCC.
The team heads into the WNYAC play-offs with a 16-4 overall record. The Cougars will face Jamestown CC at 3:00 pm on Tuesday with the winner advancing to play in Buffalo on Saturday.
