Genesee Baseball Team to Host Monroe for WNYAC Fall Crown

On Saturday, September 24, 2005, Genesee Community College will play host to Monroe Community College for the Western New York Athletic Conference crown for the fall season. The first of two games starts at 1:00 pm at College Field. GCC is currently 10-0 for the first time in the school's history. With a victory on Saturday, the Cougars would be the number one seed in the conference tournament to be held October 7th-9th in Buffalo.

The team swept two games from Erie Community College on Saturday. Andrew Van'tWout pitched a complete game for his fourth win of the year. He allowed three runs on five hits as GCC won 5-3. Johnny DeWolfe went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Justin Bye and Steve Torrey added two hits a piece.

It took an extra inning for the Cougars to win the second game of the twinbill. Bye went the distance giving up only one run in eight innings. Brad Kozak drove in both runs for the Cougars. He had two hits including a double.
