Baseball Team Approaching .500 Record

The Genesee Community College baseball team played a rugged 10 game schedule in the span of thirteen days. The Cougars managed to win six out of those ten games to approach the .500 mark in regional play.

The team suffered two late game losses to Finger Lakes Community College. In both games, FLCC scored in the bottom of the seventh to defeat GCC 6-5 and 5-4. The Cougars then took two from Niagara County Community College. In game one, the team won 9-2 and in game two, the Cougars won 11-1.

GCC salvaged a split with Alfred State, a Division II member of the NJCAA. Both games were decided by one run with each team garnering a 3-2 victory. Genesee also managed a split with Jefferson Community College winning game one, 16-12, and losing game two, 3-4. Genesee completed the grueling schedule by taking two from Onondaga CC. GCC won the first game, 3-1, and then took the second game by a count of 4-3. Genesee is now 11-17 overall and 7-9 against Region III, Division III foes with eight games remaining.
