Men's Volleyball Team Drops Four Matches

The Cougar volleyball team lost a tough five game match to Canisius College on Thursday night. Genesee won the first game 25-17 and lost the second 8-25. They battled back to win the third game 25-18 but dropped the final two games including the tiebreaker (16-25 and 11-15). Brad Archibald had 14 bocks on the night for GCC. Shawn Carrigan added nine blocks and 10 kills for the Cougars.

The team traveled to a tournament at the University at Buffalo on Saturday. Genesee. In the first round, GCC lost to Army (15-25, 14-25). The Cougars then lost to Navy (16-25, 17-25). In its final matchup, GCC lost to Canisius (15-25, 14-25). For the tournament, Shawn Carrigan had 10 blocks and 15 kills for Genesee. Brian Lambert had 11 digs, Ed Bryant added 12 kills and Jeff Gmereck set for 25 assists. GCC is 1-13 overall.
