The Genesee Community College Men's Swim Team won its own Holiday Sprint Invitational held on Saturday, December 11th. Genesee defeated teams from Jamestown, Mercyhurst, Alfred State, and Erie. The women's team finished second to Erie.
Dale Pearce had another record setting performance. He broke his own standard in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 57.54 seconds. Pearce also won the 500 Freestyle and the 200 Freestyle. Adam Dewey also set a new school record in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 49.31 seconds. Those two combined with Tim Pirdy and Adam Weil to establish a new record in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
On Wednesday, both teams defeated Alfred State. The men won 107-66 and the women won 69-39. Pearce set another record in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 56.61 seconds. He also won the 50 and 200 Freestyle events. Pirdy was a double winner as he finished first in the 500 and 1000 Freestyle races and Dewey won the 100 and 200 Freestyle. For the women, Stephanie Howard won the 1000 Freestyle, Ashley McMorran won the 100 Backstroke, Stefanie Platt finished first in the 50 Freestyle and Rachael Aldridge won the 200 Freestyle. Those four combined to win the 200 Medley Relay as well. The Cougars are now 3-2 overall and the Lady Cougars have a 4-1 record in dual meet competitions.
