Genesee Community College was the only 2-year school competing at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Swim Invitational held over the weekend. The Cougars swam against teams from IUP, Kutztown, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Slippery Rock and Mansfield. Though both the men's and women's teams' finished last in their respective divisions, Coach Hunsinger believes that competing against NCAA Division II schools will ultimately reap benefits for his teams' by the end of the season.
Dale Pearce placed fourth in the 200 Freestyle, eighth in the 1650 Freestyle (new school record), and ninth in the 500 Freestyle. Adam Dewey placed eighth in both the 100 Backstroke and the 100 Freestyle and Joe Roche finished sixth in the 200 Backstroke. Those three combined with Tim Pirdy to finish fifth in the 800 Freestyle Relay. Dewey, Pearce, and Pirdy were also a part of the 400 Freestyle relay that placed fifth along with Adam Weil.
