Men's Soccer Team Records Two Shutouts

The Genesee Community College men's soccer team recorded two shutouts this week. The Cougars beat Niagara County Community College 9-0 and Tompkins-Cortland Community College 2-0 to improve their record to 6-3-1.

Seven different players found the net in the rout of the Trailblazers. Chris Cornwell and Mike Mertz each scored two goals. Wataru Wakamatsu kicked in a goal and assisted on three others. Josh Sullivan, Jon VanBuskirk, Jim McIntyre, and Tom Morris also scored for GCC. Freshman Brian Horstmyer had his first shutout of the year in the net.

Brandon Pope recorded his 5th shutout of the season and made 8 saves as the Cougars defeated TCCC. Cornwell and Mike Brazis accounted for the two goals. Wakamatsu and Jesse Bopp each had an assist.
