In the first game of the double header on Saturday, Genesee beat Monroe 9-4. MCC is a Division I member of the WNYAC and Region III. Justin Bye went the distance on the mound for GCC. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits and he struck out eight and walked four. Gabe Santiago did the damage at the plate for the Cougars by going 3 for 4 with a double and a home run. Santiago drove in three runs and scored two and added a stolen base. Eric Tones also hit a home run and had 3 RBI's.
The Cougars took the Tribunes to extra innings before falling 2-1 in game two. Quinn Fuller pitched eight strong innings. He gave up four hits and three walks while striking out four. Eric Mundorff went 2 for 4 at the plate for GCC.
On Tuesday, Genesee took two from the Niagara CCC. The Cougars defeated the Trailblazers 8-1 in the opener. Josh Parkinson and Jay Thomas each had 2 hits and scored 2 runs. Fuller earned the win on the mound. He pitched 5 innings and allowed one run on two hits while fanning six and walking two.
GCC dominated NCCC 16-2 in five innings in the night cap. Justin Bye did not give up a hit in his four innings of work to earn the victory. Bye homered to help his own cause and Fuller had a triple and 3 RBI's. Ben Brown chipped in with a double and a triple. The Cougars have a 5-5 overall record.
