Genesee Community College's Lakeville Campus Center at 5999 Big Tree Road in Lakeville is pleased to announce a FREE college seminar on April 3, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The seminar will cover all the details about college enrollment, including filling out the free State University of New York application, understanding financial aid and students loans, and appreciating the details about scholarships and filing the proper forms in a timely fashion.
The free seminar is open to the public and because seating is limited, reservations are recommended by calling the Lakeville Campus Center at 585-346-5070.
Any person interested in college is encouraged to attend-from young adults nearing the completion of their high school diplomas, to their parents, and other adults who may be thinking about changing careers or pursuing a college degree. Representatives from Genesee's financial aid office, H & R Block, and Chase Bank will be available to answer questions. The seminar will provide valuable information in the following areas:•How to determine the best SUNY college or university for individual interests•How to apply to SUNY colleges and universities•How to begin the overall college application process•How and when to apply for financial aid and student loans •How to qualify for scholarships•How parents can take advantage of educational tax credits
