Toni Ann Moore of Leicester, chief clerk of Livingston County Surrogate's Court, is serving as Chair of the Livingston Division of the Genesee Community College Foundation's annual campaign. Ms. Moore, an active member of the Genesee Community College Foundation Board, said that she is motivated by the goals of the campaign to encourage excellent students to attend Genesee, to promote the opportunity for an educated and trained workforce, and to provide access to all worthy and deserving students who may need a small amount of financial help to keep them enrolled in college.
"The campaign theme, Our Best Investment, emphasizes the importance of encouraging our men and women to seek higher educations, to be trained in crucial fields such as technology, criminal justice and health care that are needed in the workforce right here in our county," Ms. Moore said. "The presence of two campus centers within our county, one in Dansville and one in Lakeville, eases access and admission to the College.
"Each of us can help through our support of students through scholarships," Ms. Moore continued. "Scholarships attract students with high academic potential to the classrooms; help retain students who otherwise may be at risk of dropping out due to financial concerns, and, again, support our local economy by training our work force in needed skills."
