Eight individuals were appointed to Genesee Community College's faculty and staff over the last several weeks, President Stuart Steiner reported to the Board of Trustees Monday evening. They include:
•Carrie Baldwin, Technical Assistant, Office of Admissions. Ms. Baldwin holds a B.S. degree from the University of Georgia and a M.S. degree from Western Illinois University.
•Elise Banfield, Instructor of Psychology. Ms. Banfield has taught at Jamestown Community College, SUNY at Brockport, SUNY at Geneseo, St. John Fisher College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Rochester. She holds a B.A. degree from SUNY at Geneseo, a M.A. degree from SUNY at Brockport, and a M.S. degree from St. Bonaventure University.
•Scott Deming, Instructor of Criminal Justice. Mr. Deming serves as a member of the Special Investigation Section of the Rochester, NY Police Department Violent Crime Team. He has served that police department since 1985, and plans to retire in December 2005. Prior to 1985 he was a Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy. He has served on the adjunct faculty of Monroe Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Keuka College. He is also a contract instructor for the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services. He holds an A.A.S. degree from Monroe Community College, a B.A. degree from SUNY at Geneseo, and a M.P.A. degree from SUNY at Brockport.
•Douglas Grant Gutheil, Instructor of Psychology. Dr. Gutheil has taught at the University of Puget Sound (Washington), Skidmore College, and SUNY Institute of Technology. He also held a post-doctoral fellowship at Cornell University for four years. He holds a B.A. degree from SUNY at Geneseo and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan.
•Amber Phousongphouang, Language Lab Coordinator. Ms. Phousongphouang served as a lab assistant for eighteen months at the University of Central Arkansas, where she earned her B.A. degree.
•Gina M. Regensburger, Director of Human Resources. Ms. Regensburger comes to Genesee from Charter One Bank, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources. She holds a B.A. degree from SUNY at Potsdam and a M.B.A. degree from St. John Fisher College.
•James Simon, Instructor of History. Mr. Simon comes to Genesee from the United States Air Force, where he most recently served as Director of Policy, Doctrine, Education and Training and Chief of Staff in the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency in Virginia. He served as an assistant professor at the U. S. Air Force Academy for six years. He holds a B.S. degree from the U. S. Air Force Academy and a M.A. degree from the University of Utah.
•Christopher Stercula, Instructor and Coordinator of Clinical Education for Respiratory Care. Mr. Stercula has served on the staffs of Strong Memorial Hospital and Rochester General Hospital in the Rochester area, Sisters and Kaleida Hospitals in the Buffalo area. He is also a neonatal/pediatric respiratory specialist. He holds an A.A.S. degree from Erie Community College, a B.S. degree from California College for Health Science, and a M.S. degree from Canisius College.
