Genesee Community College's Fashion Show students are putting the final touches on their "RUNWAY 24" production, which features 15 different fast-moving scenes, including four totally new concepts and some new 'spin and grin' for a few of the old favorites. Over 100 models are being lined-up with a wide array of fashion apparel, age groups, music and magic. The following are the new scenes: Wikid Styli, Rock N' Republic, D.E.N.I.M. and Geek Chic.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of the program, this year's event will have two shows scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, in the William W. Stuart Forum of the Batavia Campus. Pre-show entertainment includes The Destination Divas, a group of Genesee Community College students doing their original step dancing piece entitled, "Another Bad Creation," which was very popular at another College function. This year's sponsors are Mercedes Benz of Buffalo and Batavia Wal-Mart. The master of ceremonies will be Hal Legg, Genesee Community College's Recruitment Communications Specialist, and he will be accompanied by Joanna Barefoot, the College's Student Activities Associate.
"We are very excited about another terrific program to present to the community this year," Genesee Community College professor Rick Dudkowski said. "After 24 years of successful Fashion Shows, it is always amazing how each new class brings its own unique flare, creativity and energy to the program."
Advance tickets for the show are strongly recommended and are available for $5 by calling 585-345-6830. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $7.
