Rhea Hewitt, training coordinator and communication director of Batavia Wal-Mart presented a $500 check to Genesee Community College Fashion Merchandising students in support of the College's 24th annual student fashion show. Due to continuing popularity of the Fashion Show, which last year brought over 1000 guests, this year's event, scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2004 will have two shows, one at 3:00 PM and a second show at 7:00 PM, both at the Batavia campus in the William W. Stuart Forum.
"We are so appreciative of Wal-Mart's continued support of this great community event," Professor Rick Dudkowski said. "Each year the Fashion Show is a spectacular opportunity to merge the energy and creativity of our students with outside resources. It is a professionally staged show and wonderful occasion for students to learn about retail, sales, as well as all the rewards and challenges of events management."
Wal-Mart will be joined by approximately a dozen other corporate sponsors from Western New York in supplying clothing, accessories, and other materials that help create the program's overall success. Tickets for the show will be available in advance for $5 or at the door for $7. For further information on tickets or sponsorship opportunities please call 585-345-6830.
