Who:Commencement Speaker: - Dr. Roger Triftshauser is a Special Assistant to the Governor for Intercounty Affairs and a local civic leader who owns a very successful orthodontic practice in Batavia. Other Featured Speakers and Presenters: - Dr. Stuart Steiner, President of Genesee Community College- Dr. Claudia Moore, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs- Mr. Michael Crittenden, Professor of Physics and Chair of the Academic Senate- Mr. Glenn Morton, Chair, Genesee Community College Board of Trustees- Dr. Melvin Wentland, Vice Chair, Genesee Community College Board of Trustees
- Over 250 students and their families are anticipated to attend the ceremony
Background: Genesee Community College's 2004 Spring Commencement ceremony will honor more than 750 Genesee graduates who have earned degrees in 46 different academic majors. With approximately 225 students participating in the ceremony, the College is expecting more than 2,000 guests to join the celebration. Special arrangements have been made for reporters to meet with several notable graduates for an hour beforehand in the President's Conference room at the College. Reservations are not required. A full press release providing students hometowns will be circulated next week.
