Genesee Community College Fashion Show Production Class Presents "STYLISSIMO" The 23rd Annual Fashion Show

Students at Genesee Community College continue to prepare for "STYLISSIMO," the College's 23rd Annual Fashion Show scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Batavia campus in the William W. Stuart Forum. With over 700 guests expected, 12 original scenes planned, and pre-show and post-show entertainment?there is much excitement building around this campus event. Tickets for the show cost $5 advance sale and are available by calling 585-345-6830. Tickets are $7 at the door, but since the show usually sells out?advance sale tickets are strongly encouraged.

This year's sponsors, Mercedes Benz of Buffalo and Batavia Wal-Mart, join a host of other supportive merchandisers and retailers from Buffalo to Rochester. Bailey's for Men in East Aurora, Betty's Bridal and Formal Wear Shoppe in Batavia, Caché in Buffalo, Damsel in a Dress in Buffalo, David's Bridal in Tonawanda, Fashion Bug in Batavia and Brockport, The Children's Place in Rochester, Shoe Biz?A Unique Boutique in East Aurora, Stan's Harley Davidson in Batavia, Steinmart in Orchard Park, the Gap in Amherst, and Zumiez in Buffalo, and Kaufmann's and Rainbow in Rochester are among the retailers who have provided clothing and support for this year's "Stylissimo." Fashion Merchandising students are coordinating over 100 models for the 15 scenes including a special "Haute Couture" or a high fashion opening scene. The other scenes are: Kids, Freshman, Retro, Street Wear, Accessories, Alternative, International, Swimwear, Career Wear, Formal Wear, and Bridal Wear. "The students have worked very hard to prepare an elaborate, professionally staged show," says Professor Rick Dudkowski, instructor of the Fashion Show Production class. "They handle everything from budgetary arrangements to staging. It is a great learning experience for these students, who will soon be in retail and sales organizations throughout New York State and beyond."
