The Fashion Show Production students at Genesee Community College are presenting "STYLISSIMO," the College's 23rd Annual Fashion Show. The show is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Batavia campus in the William W. Stuart Forum. Over 700 guests will be attending this annual event, one of the largest fashion shows in Western New York! The pre-show entertainment includes a performance by the Genesee Community College Cheerleaders, and this year's sponsors are Mercedes Benz of Buffalo and Batavia Wal-Mart.
Fashion Merchandising students have finalized 12 scenes for this year's show, and coordinated these individual programs with 15 local merchants and over 100 models. Included in this year's Stylissimo are a special "Haute Couture" or a high fashion opening scene, as well as a Kids, Freshman, Retro, Street Wear, Accessories, Alternative, International, Swimwear, Career Wear, Formal Wear, and Bridal Wear scenes. The show will present the latest fashion trends from local merchants including: Bailey's for Men in East Aurora, Batavia Wal-Mart, Betty's Bridal and Formal Wear Shoppe in Batavia, CachÃ© in Buffalo, Damsel in a Dress in Buffalo, David's Bridal in Tonawanda, Fashion Bug in Batavia and Brockport, The Children's Place in Rochester, Shoe Biz?A Unique Boutique in East Aurora, Stan's Harley Davidson in Batavia, Steinmart in Orchard Park, the Gap in Amherst, and Zumiez in Buffalo, and Kaufmann's and Rainbow in Rochester.
A number of door prizes will be awarded, and immediately following the show there will be refreshments and live entertainment from the Chimene Williams Band in the College cafeteria. Tickets for the show are available in advance for $5 or at the door for $7. For advance tickets call 585-345-6830.
