Holiday in New York ~ Another Encore Success

On December 11, 2003, the 12th Annual Encore celebration hosted by Genesee Community College Foundation was attended by over 320 guests. The audience enjoyed music and song featuring guest conductor Andrew J. Bisantz and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. A surprise appearance of Santa Claus (Tenor Harold McAulliffe) included a truly moving rendition of Cantique de Noel (Oh Holy Night), and Santa called three 'volunteer' musicians to the stage for orchestral accompaniment on several other Christmas carols. Richard Ensman, Genesee's Vice President of External Affairs played the cock-koo flute; the Honorable Judge Robert C. Noonan, played the triangle; and Keith Norton, partner with Genesee Patrons Cooperative Insurance Co. played the nightingale kazoo.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Barbara Easton were this year's Encore co-chairs, and the Foundation thanks them for their effort in creating the "Holiday in New York" success. Encore supports the Foundation's many initiatives, including the scholarship fund which awarded more than 500 student scholarships last year.

"Encore is so much more than a fundraiser," Mrs. Easton, Encore Co-chair said. "It's really a community celebration with good friends and family toasting to the future."
