Auditions Set for One-Act Plays at Genesee Center for the Arts; Former Genesee Theatre Student to Direct

The Forum Players, the student-based acting group at Genesee Community College, will be holding auditions for three one act plays by two international masters of comedic playwrighting: The Proposal and The Bear by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov, and Scapino adapted from a full-length play by French playwright Jean-Baptiste Moliere. Marcia Morrison, Director of Fine and Performing Arts at Genesee and former Genesee theatre arts graduate Chris Anderson (Class of 2000) will direct the plays. Mr. Anderson continued his education at C.W.Post, Long Island University where he obtained his BFA in Acting.

Auditions are September 8 and 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stuart Steiner Theatre. Performance dates are October 9, 10, and 11. Roles for a variety of characters will be cast, but two older male actors are needed to play the comedic fathers in Scapino. Scripts are available for 24-hour checkout in the Arts Center Office at the College.
