The Genesee Community College Office of Continuing Education will hold a class this fall that prepares student for the New York State Real Estate Salesperson examination. This course consists of 16 sessions, on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. starting on September 15 through November 11. It will be held at Genesee's Batavia Campus.
The course will cover the use of deeds and other real estate instruments, financing methods, and listing procedures. It will examine how New York State law applies to agency, contracts, and fair housing, and it will identify the practical functions of a real estate salesperson. Students must attend 80 percent of the classes and earn a minimum grade of 70 percent on the final course exam. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate approved y the New York State Department of State and be qualified to take the New York State Real Estate Licensing exam. The fee of $284 includes textbook.
