For the first time, Genesee Community College is offering students the added convenience of credit card payments online, Vice President for Finance and Operations Patrick Richey reported to the Board of Trustees this evening. The new TouchNet payment system is completely automated, and will result in added convenience to students, Mr. Richey said.
Using a web browser, students may make payments of tuition and fees to the college's Business Offict ny time of the day and part of the t via the Internet. The college accepts MasterCard and VISA credit cards. This TouchNet service is available to all currently enrolled Genesee Community College students using their Genesee Campus Pipeline accounts. Campus Pipeline is Genesee's personalized online information system that allows students to register for classes, check their grades, access their college e-mail accounts, and access many other college resources. The new service is one more way that Genesee is using technology for students' benefits, Mr. Richey told the Board. "We pride ourselves in offering state-of-the-art instructional technology," he said. "But we also place a high priority on using technology to improve student service and build greater efficiency into our administrative operations. TouchNet gives students the opportunity to complete their financial transactions online, and it will eventually give us the opportunity reduce the staff time involved in processing payments."
