With GCC’s extensive offering of class times and locations, students of all ages can pick the right time, day or place that meets their needs and suits their schedules. Among the wide range of courses in the variety of dynamic subject areas are American Sign Language, Creative Problem Solving, Ceramics, Entrepreneurship, Interpersonal Communication, eight different sessions of Introduction to Computers, and one of the newest courses this semester is Introduction to Nanotech (NST100).
GCC’s newest degree, Nanotechnology AAS, prepares students of today to enter high-tech careers of tomorrow. Technicians specializing in nanotechnology are needed in biology, chemistry, electrical engineering, medical laboratories and computer/electronical manufacturing. Nanotechnology is everywhere – from biopharmaceuticals to biotechnology, electronics to semiconductor fabrication, material and environmental sciences to biochemistry, as well as information storage, energy, medicine, security, food and so much more. GCC Nanotech students will be on cutting-edge of tomorrow’s high-end careers. The first course is offered on Fridays from 12:20 - 3:25 p.m. at the Batavia Campus.
Another dynamic course, Introduction to Creative Problem Solving (CPS101) is offered on Wednesdays from 12:20 p.m. – 2:20 p.m. and will help students in every academic division make the most of their studies by developing individual creative potential. Focus will be given to the interactive elements in deliberate creativity and innovation, including the creative process, creative product and the creative environment. The course is also offered through the convenience of online learning.
If starting classes at the end of August is not doable, GCC’s late-start, 12-week session begins on Monday, September 19, 2016. For all the class options at GCC visit: www.genesee.edu/courses/schedule.
