VOLLEYBALL WINS THE REGION

Women's Volleyball hosted their regional match tonight as they played Mercyhurst North East for the title.  Genesee won the match in just three short matches with scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-10.  The team was led by Dawn Dodd, Kayla Palmer and Liza Cheseborough.  Dodd and Palmer both added 6 kills throughout the matches while Cheseborough compiled 18 assists, 1 kill and 3 aces.

Women's Volleyball Comes in 2nd at WNYAC!

All Tournament Teams Announced

Women's Volleyball traveled to Niagara Community College this past weekend to compete in the Western New York Athletic Conference Championships.  In the first round the Lady Cougars defeated Mercyhurst NE in four with scores of 16-25, 25-22, 25-21, and 30-28.  The next round Genesee was to face Niagara Community College and lost in three short matches.   The scores of the championship matches were 28-25, 23-25 and 19-25.  Genesee was led by Brandy Calvert who had 30 kills, 9 aces and 11 blocks.

Genesee Volleyball defeats Jamestown CC; drops to RMC and NCCC at quad meet.

The Genesee volleyball team hosted a quad meet on Saturday finishing 1-2 on the day with losses to Niagara County CC in 5 games and Royal Military College of Canada in 3 games, Genesee defeated Jamestown CC in 3 games in their last match.

Leading the Lady Cougars was Liza Cheseborough (Fountain Valley, CA) with 53 assists, 20 kills and 5 aces; Kate Thurber (Lyndonville, NY) with 32 assists; and Ashley Gerace (Batavia, NY) with 8 aces and 13 kills.

The GCC Volleyball team will host a quad-meet Saturday the 17th at Batavia High School featuring Niagara CC, Jamestown CC, and Royal Military College of Canada. The Lady Cougars currently have a four match win streak in non-tournament play with victories over Jamestown CC in 5 games, Monroe CC in 4 games, Finger Lakes in 3 games, and Mercyhurst NE in 3 games.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL HAS SUCCESSES IN HAGERSTOWN

The women’s volleyball team traveled to Hagerstown Community College to compete this past weekend. The team competed against Cantonville CC, College of Southern Maryland, Pitt CC and Howard Community College . The Lady Cougars finished 4th overall in the tournament and was led by All Tournament Players Katelyn Thurber and Liza Cheseborough. Thurber had 14 service aces, 55 assists and 29 digs while Cheseborough contributed 21 service aces, 31 digs, 41 kills and 62 assists. The team will play Jamestown Community College on October 17th.

Volleyball Defeats Mercyhurst NE

The Genesee Women's Volleyball team hosted Mercyhurst NE yesterday.  The team played very well and won the game in just three short matches.  The scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-21.  The team was led by Freshman Liza Cheseborough who had 24 assists, 7 aces, and 7 kills.  Brandi Calvert also was a big contributor on offence as she added 7kills.  Kayla Palmer and Dawn Dodd also added 6 assists each.   The team travels to Hagerstown CC this weekend to play in their home tournament.

Genesee Volleyball Defeats Finger Lakes!

Genesee's Women's Volleyball team traveled to Finger Lakes Community College yesterday and defeated the Lady Lakers in 3 short matches.  The Lady Cougars played extreamly well and won 25-16, 25-11, 25-21.

Genesee Volleyball defeats Monroe CC in four!

The Lady Cougars volleyball team traveled to Monroe Community College to take on the Lady Tribunes and came out on top in four games to win the match by the scores of 27-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18. Leading GCC was Liza Cheseborough (Fountain Valley, CA) who had 14 digs, 10 kills, and 34 assists and Ashley Gerace (Batavia, NY) who had 15 kills and 12 digs. With the victory GCC improved their Regional record to 5-0 and Conference record to 2-0.

The Lady Cougars travel to Finger Lakes Community College for their next game Tuesday October 6th at 6pm.

Our women's Volleyball team traveled to Jamestown Community College yesterday evening and came home with a 5 game win!

Our women's Volleyball team traveled to Jamestown Community College yesterday evening and came home with a 5 game win! The entire team contributed in the teams success. Freshman Liza Chesebough (Fountain Valley, CA) had 24 assists, 4 aces and 8 kills. Sophomore Ashley Gerace (Batavia, NY) contributed 23 digs and 3 aces. Brandi Clavert (Attica, NY) added 15 kills while Kayla Palmer (Oneida, NY) had 10 blocks. 

This coming weekend the team is hosting the 11th annual Kaminna Allen Classic at Batavia High School. The team plays at 4:00pm and 6:00pm on Friday evening!

Women's Volleyball Overcomes Mercyhurst

The women’s volleyball team traveled to Mercyhurst NE yesterday to compete in a Division II Regional Match. The team defeated Mercyhurst in four short games. The Lady Cougars played very well as a unit with no one player dominating, they all shared in the team’s success. 

The Lady Cougars are next to play this weekend in the Mott Community College Tournament!
