Women's Basketball Travels to Mercyhurst for Region III Opening Round

The Cougars will travel to Mercyhurst North East on Wednesday night for the sole sub-regional matchup in Division II Region III women’s basketball.
Genesee (5-20, 0-8) is the No. 5 seed and lost both regular season matchups to the Saints this year. 
Mercyhurst (16-10, 4-4) is the No. 4 seed and the Saints ended the year winning six of its final seven games.

Women's Basketball drops Regular Season Finale

Thursday night marked the final game of the regular season for the Genesee Community College women's basketball team and the Cougars ended the season on a losing note, falling to Monroe Community College, 82-28.

Genesee grabbed an early lead after Breana Gleaton converted a three-point play and Hillary Rivera scored two of her five first half points to put GCC in front, 5-2.

MCC would then use a 30-6 run to take the lead for good and went into the locker room at the half up 44-20.

Women's Basketball Ends Regular Season Thursday Night

Thursday night will mark the last regular season game of the year for the GCC women’s basketball team when the Cougars welcome Monroe Community College to the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium.
Genesee is 5-20 this year and 0-8 in the Western New York Athletic Conference, still in search of its first conference win since the end of the 2011-12 season.
Monroe (23-3) will enter Thursday night’s contest on a nine-game winning streak, tied for the longest winning stretch this season for the Tribunes.

Cougars Looking to 'White Out' Last Regular Season Game

The Genesee Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams will welcome Monroe Community College to the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium for a “white out” on Thursday night, with the women tipping off at 6 p.m. and the men to follow at 8 p.m.
All fans are encouraged to wear white to the games, which are the last regular season games of the year for both teams.
The GCC women (5-20, 0-8) will try for their first conference win of the year and the men (20-7, 5-4) will try to add to their highest win total since the 2003-04 season.

Women's Basketball to play Final Regular Season Road Game on Thursday

The Genesee Community College women’s basketball team will play its final regular season road game of the season on Thursday night when the Cougars travel to Jamestown Community College to take on the Jayhawks.
Dating back to last season, Genesee (5-19, 0-8) has gone 20 tries without a Western New York Athletic Conference victory and fell to Jamestown in the first meeting of the season on Feb.1, 46-45.
Jamestown (17-6, 6-1) sits atop the Division II WNYAC standings, but has losses in two of its last three games.

Women's Basketball Drops Road Contest at Erie

Dashawna Jenifer scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Tuesday night for the Genesee Community College women's basketball team, but it was not enough as the Cougars fell to Erie Community College, 68-52.

Terra Clanton cashed in a three-point basket with 1:30 left in the first half to get GCC to within four at 31-27, and Genesee got to within two early in the second half, but Erie pulled away midway through the final period and defeated Genesee for the second time this season.

Women's Basketball Continues Road Stretch on Thursday Night

The Genesee Community College women's basketball team will continue its four-game road stretch on Thursday night at Mercyhurst North East. It will be the second of four straight road games for the Cougars and the second meeting of the season against the Saints.

Genesee (5-17, 0-6) has seen its losing skid reach 10 games and the Cougars are still searching for their first Western New York Athletic Conference win of the year.

Mercyhurst (11-8, 2-3) has lost three out of its last four games, all three losses against WNYAC opponents.

In their last non-conference game of the season, the Cougars will travel to Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday night looking to end a nine-game losing streak.
Genesee (5-16, 0-6) is 5-10 in non-conference games this season and Tuesday night marks the first of four straight road contests for the Cougars.
Finger Lakes (8-10, 5-3) currently sit in the middle of the pack in the Region III Division III standings.

Women's Basketball falls to Herkimer

In the final game of a four-game homestand, the Genesee Community College women's basketball team dropped a 63-49 decision to Herkimer County Community College on Sunday afternoon.

Genesee committed 16 first half turnovers and fell behind early.

Terra Clanton and Breana Gleaton delivered seven points each in the first half, but GCC trailed Herkimer by as much as 20 in the opening period.

Gleaton completed a three-point play to cut the Generals lead down to 30-19, but Herkimer ended the first half on a 19-4 run.
