#6 Men's Lacrosse routs Niagara

The #6 Genesee Community College men’s lacrosse team followed its 28-goal record-setting performance on Saturday with another big win on Wednesday as they defeated Western New York Athletic Conference rival Niagara County Community College 21-1.

Dana Ray got Genesee on the board off of a feed from Sean Kidder and the Cougars never looked back.

Genesee tallied 19 unanswered goals before the Thunderwolves ended the shutout bid with a goal early in the fourth quarter.

Men's LAX hosts Niagara on Wednesday

Riding a two-game winning streak, the no. 6 Genesee Community College men’s lacrosse team will host Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) rival Niagara County Community College on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
Genesee (4-2, 1-0) is coming off of a record-setting win against Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday and defeated Monroe Community College in its first conference game of the year on Mar. 19.
Niagara (0-3, 0-0) has lost its first three games of the season and Wednesday will mark the first WNYAC game of the year for the Thunderwolves.

No. 6 Cougars set single-game record in win over Hudson Valley

The sixth-ranked Genesee Community College men’s lacrosse team got its highest offensive output of the season on Saturday to improve to 4-2 on the year with a 28-2 victory over visiting Hudson Valley Community College.

Genesee scored nine times in the opening quarter including a hat trick from Tyler Godfrey. Chris Lommer added two goals and the Genesee defense held Hudson Valley to just one shot on goal in the first frame.

The Cougars extended their lead to 15-0 halfway through the second quarter before HVCC broke through with its first goal of the game at the 7:45 mark.

Cougars Return home to host Hudson Valley on Saturday

After winning two out of three on its most recent road trip, the no. 6 Genesee Community College men’s lacrosse team will return home on Saturday to host Hudson Valley Community College.
The Cougars scored an average of 9.3 goals per game while on the road and split a pair of one-goal games, defeating Howard Community College (6-5) and losing to no. 2 Community College of Baltimore County-Essex (8-7).
Genesee enters Saturday’s game at 3-2 and 1-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference play.
Saturday will mark the first contest of the season for Hudson Valley.

Cougars drop Tribunes in Men's LAX

The sixth-ranked Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team ended a three-game road stretch on Wednesday night by beating no. 8 Monroe Community College 15-11.

Tyler Skowronski netted the game's first goal off of an assist from Josh Wester to put the Cougars in front 1-0 less than two-minutes into the game.

The Tribunes then scored back-to-back goals to take the lead, but it was short-lived as Tyler Godfrey scored twice and Doug Ellsworth added a goal to end the first quarter scoring and give GCC a 4-2 lead heading into the second.

Men's Lacrosse ends road trip at Monroe on Wednesday

Wednesday will mark the end to a three-game road trip for the no. 6 Genesee Community College men’s lacrosse team when the Cougars visit no. 8 Monroe Community College for a 4 p.m. start.
GCC split its first two games of the road stretch against Howard Community College (W, 6-5) and no. 2 Community College of Baltimore County-Essex (L, 8-7).

Men's Lacrosse falls short at Essex

The Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team continued its road stretch on Saturday afternoon at the Community College of Baltimore County-Essex. The no. 6 Cougars fell just short of the no. 2 Knights, losing by a final score of 8-7.

Dave Ellsworth got GCC on the board first with a goal late in the first quarter. The Cougars kept CCBC-Essex without a goal in the opening period and successfully killed off three penalties.

Dana Ray made it 2-0 Genesee early in the second quarter but the Knights scored twice shortly after to tie the game at two.

Cougars Lacrosse Continues road trip at Essex on Saturday

The sixth-ranked Genesee Community College men’s lacrosse team will continue its three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon when the Cougars visit the Community College of Baltimore County-Essex, the no. 2 team in the country.
Genesee (2-1) fell four spots in this week’s National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Poll after losing to SUNY Delhi on March 8th. The Cougars were tied with Nassau Community College at the no. 2 spot in last week’s poll.
CCBC-Essex (1-1) lost its only game of the year to no. 1 Onondaga Community College 16-8 on March 8th.

No. 6 Men's Lacrosse gets road win at Howard

The no. 6 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team traveled to Howard Community College on Thursday afternoon and bounced back from a loss against SUNY Delhi last weekend to beat HCC, 6-5.

It was a back and forth game all afternoon. Howard took a 1-0 lead at the 9-minute mark of the first quarter, but Mitch Kinney tied it with a man-up goal less than a minute later.
