Homeschool Student Opportunities at GCC’s Dansville Campus Center on June 5, 2019

Batavia, NY- For half of a century, Genesee Community College has been an educational resource for students of all backgrounds. On Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 4 - 6 p.m. GCC’s Dansville Campus Center will host a special Information Session focused on the exciting opportunities available to students who are homeschooled. Key college staff members will be available to help students and family members by answering questions and providing information about GCC’s many different programs.

Orleans County, NY- Genesee Community College’s Albion and Medina Campus Centers have announced the Spring 2019 Instructors and Students of the Semester. Each semester, one instructor and one student from each campus center are recognized for their outstanding instructional and/or academic performances. For several weeks, the campus centers collect nominations from fellow teachers, colleagues and students and a small committee led by James Simon, associate dean at Medina and Albion Campus Centers determines the winners.

Spring 2019 GCC Albion Campus Student Art Show

Albion, NY - The Albion Campus Center of Genesee Community College proudly invites the public to experience an exhibit of artwork done by the students in instructor Karen Flack’s Painting 101 and 102 classes. Artwork on display will encompass a variety of mediums, including watercolor, acrylic and mixed media.

Batavia, New York - It’s been called the flotsam and jetsam of winter. The snow is gone and left behind is a build-up of trash of all kinds, blown in from all directions and from an array of different resources. From the ubiquitous cigarette butt to the chronic beverage container or fast food wrapper, and everything in between—a season’s worth of trash is littering the edges of our highways and byways, as well as parks and public spaces.

GCC Orleans County Campus Centers Continue to Connect through Great Teaching and Community Engagement

Medina, New York — Each semester, Genesee Community College Board of Trustees visit one of the institution’s six campus centers for its monthly meeting, rotating throughout the College’s four-county, 2,100 square mile service area to fully appreciate the collegiate experience at the satellite centers.

2019 Orleans County Heritage Heroes Announced

Awards Ceremony on April 26, 2019 at GCC’s Medina Campus Center

Medina, NY – The Orleans County Heritage Heroes Awards recognize the work and dedication of those who give their time and resources to preserve and protect the history of Orleans County for future generations.

The Heritage Heroes Awards will be bestowed upon the 2019 winners at a special ceremony on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Genesee Community College’s Medina Campus Center in Medina, NY. The awards are co-sponsored by SUNY GCC and the Orleans Hub. The entire community is invited to come and help honor these important individuals.
